The 2009 Coniston Water Festival - 3rd and 4th July

The Coniston Water Festival is an annual event, based on and around the iconic ‘Coniston Water’ in the Lake District. Since it's creation in the 19th century the festival has been a celebration of the historical and cultural identity of the area, highlighting the rich and varied qualities of rural life.

Canoeing on Coniston Water Now, more than one hundred years later, this contemporary festival combines traditional events with new ideas, bringing together; the local community and its many visitors; adventure activities and wildlife; the fells and the lake, and the many local attractions and businesses.

This year’s festival takes the best and most successful elements, both old and new, to create a fun weekend of activities and events, focused on the lake and the unique aspects of water-related culture and sport.
