5pm Duck Race - Church Beck
The Duck Race starts as usual at Church Bridge but this year ends at Coniston Boating Centre. Tickets £ 1 each, available at Coniston Boating Centre, Coniston TIC and other Coniston venues. First duck to the lake wins.
6 - 8pm Steam Yacht Gondola Cruise - Coniston Pier
Enjoy an extended cruise on Gondola with Bill Smith (The Bluebird Project) who will recount his personal stories of the discovery, salvage and restoration of Campbell's Bluebird. Not recommended for children under 10.

6 - 8pm The Water Festival is a great time to socialise and meet new people, so why not spend Friday evening with us down by the lake, where there will be food, drink and entertainment.
This year Coniston and Langdale Primary schools will take part in a full day of activities on the lake including; kayaking, sailing and water safety.

The All England Open Skimming Championships
This year the South Cumbria Rivers Trust in association with the Coniston Water Festival is hosting the 2009 All England Open Skimming Championships. Last year's record stands at 68m. Fancy your chances?
All ages can enter; Under 10's £ 1, Ages 10-15 £ 2, Over 15-Adults- £ 3.
11am - 7pm Big and little Fat Canoe Race
Teams of 4 or 6 paddle out to a marker just off the shore and race back as quickly as possible. You can sign up on the day down at the lake, everyone has a lot of fun and there's even a prize for the winners.
Entry BFC; Age15-adults-£ 5per team, LFC 10-14- £ 2 per team
11am - 7pm Sailing have a go sessions
Have an hour with our friendly instructors and you'll soon be on your way to learning some new skills or at least having some fun.
Sessions start every hour, £ 8 per person, Ages 10 - adult, max. 6 people per session.
3 - 4pm It's a Lake Knockout
It's a Knockout takes to the water again with a host of fun games and challenges. Join us on the shore or get a team together and compete for a chance to become this year's knockout champions.

5.30 - 6.30pm Special Festival Cruise on the Coniston Solar Launch
All aboard for this special evening cruise around the lake.
